We'reeeeee Hommmmmeeee!

We packed and checked our bags at the hotel and headed out for our last day in Philadelphia. They wanted to go back to the Franklin Institute because they loved it so much. The first place we stopped was the mummification demonstration. The bags had frogs from different stages of mummification in them.
One of the favorite rooms was the train room. This experiment made you keep the coal and temperature just right in order not to blow the train up. Of course you know who had to do it and blow up the engine!

We also got to experience working with the gloves that the astronauts wear in space.

This was GROSS to me. The demonstrator had a cow's eye and took it apart to show the different parts. YUCK!

We met Daddy for lunch in downtown Philly! I love this picture!

He was watching the window washers outside the restaurant. He decided he didn't want this job!

Our journey home began at 30th Street Penn Station.

We were early and our train was late.....

So excited to be coming home!

Daddy insisted we go to G&M Seafood for dinner in Baltimore. It was the BEST crabcake I have ever eaten. I am ashamed of the ones we have in the south now that I have had that one! Boo had spaghetti.

Sis had fried fish.
And here is mine!

They do love each other despite all the fighting they do!

As we waited for our plane, he watched for over an hour at the traffic coming into and off the runway.

She colored!

And then they met a friend. Furriest dog I have ever seen!

Plane ride home! Here we go!

Watching the clouds.
Sleepy, sleepy, and curious.

We had a wonderful trip!

Day Five of Fun in Philly!

Forgive me for the order... these two pictures are out of place, but the sleeping beauties are resting for our last day/ travel day home! Can't wait to get back to LC and show off all the pictures! It has been a great trip!

We started day five at the Philadelphia Zoo. This was the first zoo in America and had many, many animals. Again, it was one of those things that I thought might taken an hour or two for us to see... much longer! All sorts of things to see and do! This is out front before you go inside.

It started raining about ten minutes after we got in... we bought ponchos and kept on a trucking! The rain didn't stop us. About 30 minutes later it quit raining and Sis told Boo that was the McKinney luck... buy something and then you don't need it!

We could get so close to the animals as you will see from the pictures I am posting here... We have LOTS more that I didn't put on here!

Peacocks were abundant in the zoo. Boo was trying to make this one fluff... but it wouldn't!

WE took this laughing... we named our entire family in the gorillas, apes, and monkeys!

Somebody pitched a fit for a monkey... guess who won the battle!

We are leaving the zoo.... and we never saw a real elephant...believe it or not!

After the zoo, we went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art... this is where Sylvester Stalone ran during Rocky. Of course...he only ran the first seven steps (he had a stunt-double), but ran all 72 to the top. This is the statue outside the museum. There was nothing there for years and the tourists were upset because they would go to the top and not see anything depicting the movie... so they put this down front. We still felt the need to run the steps and do the high fist pumps!

This is the view from the top of the steps!

And then we headed over to the Museum of Natural Science... It wasn't the best, but they did have free putt putt that we enjoyed!

Swimming to end our day was perfect.

Boo put his monkey in the bed while he got a shower. Yes, he is playing the DS.

2nd favorite meal of the trip... Papa John's... oh how we have missed you since being in Greenville! Boo only ate FIVE pieces! He had his shower and then was ready for bed!

I went down to the restaurant in the lobby and ordered this dessert... there was ginger icecream, coconut icecream, two more that I couldn't figure out... and fried bananas!

We head home tomorrow! Will let you know about our trip home!

Day Four! Philadelphia...We know it like the back of our hands!

After having near panic attacks on the subway every day, we decided to ride into downtown with Daddy this morning. Of course we had to be like the "suits" and stop by Starbucks before getting into the cab. Boo had waited all week to ride in a taxi... HE LOVED IT! By the way... milk and chocolate milk are in those cups!

One of the most fascinating things to both children on this trip were the bladeless hand dryers. It didn't matter if they needed to wash their hands or not, when we walked by a hand dryer they washed their hands!

We caught the waterfront connection bus and headed to New Jersey to visit the Aquarium. We had a great trip and you can see all the pictures below!

You all know the story of Sis and the hippos at Christmas. She loved seeing a real one!

It had worried him all week what that mud spot was in the center of the grounds across from Independence Center. When we got back from the Aquarium we found out! He loved watching them lay the sod! It ranks right up there with the cab ride!

He wanted a picture of it!

We headed over to the Pennsylvania Convention Center to meet Daddy for our ride home! We waited....

and waited....

When we got back to the hotel we had a little time before dinner to go swimming! We managed to run off all the "suits" with their iphones, ipads, and paperwork!

Dinner tonight was at Baby Blues... and boy was it good! This is what the children got... ribs, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and cornbread. Everything was DELICIOUS...except the cornbread! By far our favorite meal of the week so far!

She loved the ribs!
