and Jane doing a little ironing!
We are steps away from Seaport Village... this is first thing in the morning...all smiles!
In the movie "Top Gun", the scene where Goose sings and plays the piano was shot in this BarBQue place...
On the trolley tour around San Diego!
For the ITSE conference.... these guys are dressed for advertising the Promethean board... So glad I don't have to get in that outfit!
View from bridge in trolley.
After touring during the morning, we stopped in the Old Town district and had authentic Mexican food.... It was delicious, of course!
Mama and I ate the entire plate.... so, so, so good!
We found Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone along the way.
These next pictures will end up being the highlight of our week here...I think... We went on a seal tour... It started in a tour bus and then the bus turns into a boat. These are pictures of the tour. We were fortunate enough to be able to watch the USS Carl Vinson leaving the harbor. This doesn't happen often and the men directing our tour said this was amazing... they were begging for us to send our pictures to them because they were so impressed. While out in the water we saw sea lions (which I think are seals) and we even saw wild dolphins just as the USS Carl Vinson was leaving... there was so much action we couldn't take it in.... These tours run on schedule and we actually got about 15 extra minutes out on the water because of the activity! Enjoy!
This looks like all the Mattisons after we eat Thanksgiving out at the farm. We picked out each of our family members!
This is when we realized that something was about to happen... This is the Naval Security boat.... flying by us...there were also helicopters coming over our heads... Ben asked if we were going to war!
You can see the water bubble where the dolphins are... I was so excited with all that was going on...I just started snapping and of course missed... I would never make it as a professional!
The McKinney babies with the USS Carl Vinson...who by the way is from Georgia!
Another rare sighting on the water... a cargo carrier bringing in 4,000 cars.... passing an aircraft carrier....
We have done some "good eating" on this trip! We were still full from all the Mexican food at lunch, but we didn't want to skip a meal...you could never tell this from looking at my legs, butt, and arms...ha ha .... so we walked over to The Harbor House.... Mama, Sis, and I shared a salad, a cup of lobster bisque, a cup of She Crab soup, and a cup of clam chowder...It was delicious....
Ben had his standard grilled cheese sandwich... he has eaten that at least once a day... he said this one was good too!
This night we were all in bed by 10:30....and asleep.... Mark came home later and said he could have murdered all of us because we never knew he came in from work....
