It’s Saturday
morning at 7:15 and I have already done laundry, downloaded 350 pictures, and
have them ready for a blog… The entire time I was downloading pictures I was
thinking of titles for the post… There are too many things going through my mind…
so ADHD Part 2 is going to have to be it for now…
Football Friday
Nights in LC was my first thought… I’ll start with Laura. Ben whispered to me in church Sunday that
Laura was having a tailgating party with lemon squares and he was invited. Lemon squares… which are really circles… are
Ben’s favorite. She will always hold a
special place in his heart for that reason… Lemon Squares! Laura is like that… I was her flower girl
many, many moons ago, and she has always taken care of me. I can’t name all the wonderful things she has
done, but a few that stick out in my mind are coming to organize my nursery
before KB was born, sending meals to Greenville for us to eat, having her mama
make KB a cross-stitched Christmas tree skirt, and bringing lemon squares anytime
an eventful time happens over here on Wallace Wells! She told us she was going to have a FEW
snacks before the game…
Russ and Mark eating the "few snacks"
KB deciding what she was going to get next!
The "sweets"
The food... It was ALL delicious... I wish I had fixed me a "to-go"! And I want to be invited back when she has more than just a few things... I can't imagine...
Not sure how she did all that and worked all day... but my stomach was sure glad she did!
Beautiful "Miss Georgia"!
The boys...
Here we go with Mr. Photogenic.... I told them to smile... bless
and another "smile"... looks mean to me!
Here come the Devils!
One of Ben's favorite things to do is "slap" the boys as they run out on the field... those high school boys don't know what it does to these little ones for them to get to touch them!
He smiles and it makes my heart smile!
Go Big Red!
And then I thought about naming the post "The View from MY Seat..."
Coach Bradford... who by the way is indebted to us to wear a Clemson shirt... He has NOT fulfilled his part of the bargain he made with Ben... said he can't find a shirt to wear!
This is the Steve Spurrier of LC football... visor, constipated look, but he is very friendly!
Lincoln County's biggest Red Devil Fan!!!
LC Manager.... one of the sweetest there ever was!
A little coaching for the coaches!
Doolittle... who by the way sent me a text at 6 AM the other morning... he gets up too early for me! He looks mean and tough, but he his heart and care for some of our children can't be measured... he is great for them!
I think he thought I was the press snapping pictures... I can always remember how long he has been in LC because he came the year I was born... so yep... he has walked that field for 42 years!
He looks mad... I'm sure it has nothing to do with having his picture taken!
These beauties...
I taught them everything they know... just teasing... hoping they do well today... By the way... we are heading out in a few to watch them. I have never gotten to go to their competition and can't wait to see them on the mat!
A little stretching for Thomas! "Baby Thom"!
JBeggs...
Senior girls!
Sophomore girls!
Carla... my sidekick..... we work together, we laugh together, and we cry together.... I couldn't ask for a better person to sit with each day at work!
The other set of McKinneys! Faithful LC fans.
Brother Guil.... if you listen carefully, you can hear a little bit of sarcasm in his announcing...
Ms. Carole, Grace, and Marie....
The Spratlin crew....
I feel sure Cole Baby is telling Mama what he wants for Sunday lunch!
James... the kicker... but one of my favorite golfers!
Mrs. Wheeler.... LCHS Teacher of the Year!
These girls... so sweet!
Okay- Now it is Sunday night... I need to be getting ready for Monday morning, but I don't like not finishing things... so I am going to finish this post and that graduate work can just wait...
I love seeing Johnny smile... You can tell she has captured his heart!
Sweet smiles!
Lucas is too pretty to be a boy! He has beautiful eyes!
A little prayer time for the boys... I've always wished that when Guille announces to have a moment of silence at the ballgame that the crowd would break out in "Our Father, who art in Heaven...."... I mean wouldn't that be the neatest?
So happy this little one made it to the game... He didn't hang out too long in the stands... Amberly said she didn't get to "play" in the endzone until she was in the 8th grade, but Hudson was only 15 months old and he got to play there the entire game!
It's been so long since we had a baby in the family... We spent all afternoon just watching him walk, play with spiders, and get in and out of his cozy coupe... He will be rotten... but it's okay... we love him!
I love these next several pictures... evidently there was something going on with the mouths of these little girls.....
Did she get a new tooth?
His daddy didn't bring his tractor this week...
Baby Thom...
Katy Glenn showing her mouth off too!
Mary Claire... such sweet girls who always have a hug for me!
I think somebody may have a little crush on somebody... sneaky...like his daddy.
Chain crew for LC... never get any recognition... However... Mark said for the first time in six years... there was a trainer for the other team who came to them and told them he would be getting them water periodically during the night... it might taste a little funny because it had electrolytes... I think that is extremely nice...
And then... what all little boys wait for...the game to be over so they can play... I think it is funny how there are several little groups of boys... they arrange themselves by age and play until the mamas and daddies are ready to go home... I honestly think we should have a fundraiser.... turn the lights on one Saturday night... let the kids pay 10.00... and let them just play.... they LOVE it... plus... it would be fun. Boys making great memories on a field they hope to really play on one day... even though I hope Ben might just stand on the sidelines becaue I don't want him to get hit...or hurt...
"Holly Wade"... She makes the best omelets and club sandwiches in town! Always with a smile!
I'm not sure who this little boy is, but I know that Ben would love to have that haircut! and paint job!
The town... nothing like a Football Friday night!
And... then I look back and notice this.... A deacon in the Baptist church... with one of the pew cushions... in his hand... in front of the town... He bought the bench from the church, but I am sure that there are several people standing up in their grave because he brings that to ballgames... Just teasing... I love it. The best line of the night was when Sara Beth told him she thought that was the one she had an accident on when she was a little girl!
And then it was time to go home... What a great weekend this has been... KB and I went to the cheer competition Saturday... the girls did great... I came back and fixed snacks and a supper of London Broil, salad, potatoes for supper... Clemson won, Georgia won, Church this morning... church tonight... got a little graduate work done... and now... it's time for the rush of the week to start all over again. I'm thankful for cameras, fun times with friends, and makin mo memories!
